Based on Beckhoff TwinCAT bus control, we have implemented optical inspection for automotive glass performance. This system consists of 13 sets of servos from different brands and functionalities, aiming to achieve ultra-high precision positioning and optical inspection during high-speed operation. Due to the requirements for high-speed and high precision (at the micrometer level), and the need for the entire motion trajectory to meet process requirements, we have adopted a FIFO control scheme (where the upper level completes motion path planning, while the PLC focuses on point-to-point motion). The gantry dual drive ensures position synchronization at the driver level, and the PLC and language work together to process the control. Currently in the trial run phase, the equipment operates smoothly during low and medium speeds, with effective optical inspection and reliable repeatability. We are currently focusing on achieving smooth motion during the startup and stop phases of high-speed operation! After development, this equipment is expected to replace the previous manual grinding-based glass optical inspection production method, reducing the frequency of human intervention errors and lowering the cost of customizing dedicated jigs for different products for end customers, even though there are currently no similar devices in the market..
